About

Doe-Re-Mi Lavender Farm is small family owned farm located near the thriving metropolis of Yancey, Texas. The farm is home to about 1500 lavender plants displaying more than twenty varieties. In addition to the lavender there are vegetable and herb gardens, EMUS, goats and chickens, six honeybee hives, and a huge population of South Texas wildlife and wildflowers. Guests are invited to cut their own lavender, feed the animals, and wander throughout most of the farm as they get a feeling for what is required to create and maintain a farm in the arid South Texas Plains.

Ann Karns

Gardner and Baker

Ann’s vision was the beginning of the Doe-Re-Mi Lavender Farm and she is the driving force behind all that we do.  Ann is a professional musician who spent four years as a performer in the Army Ground Forces Band alongside her husband Rob.  When not planting, propagating, harvesting, or weeding, she enjoys traveling to other lavender farms, reading gardening books, and sitting on the back porch with a good glass of wine, enjoying the beautiful view.
